Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. HACCP certification is a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finished product to be unsafe and designs measurements to reduce these risks to a safe level. It is an international standard defining the requirements for effective control of food safety.


British Retail Consortium. This certificate provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, and the operational controls for these criteria in the food and food ingredient manufacturing, processing and packing industry. The BRC’s ability to react to changing food safety concerns and yet provide a simple, easy-to-follow process for factories, has resulted in the Standard becoming one of the most popular GFSI standards.


Organic certification is a certification process for producers of organic food and other organic agricultural products. In general, any business directly involved in food production can be certified, including seed suppliers, farmers, food processors, retailers and restaurants. It sets the rules regarding organic standards, including prohibited practices, requirements, and the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances.


A kosher certificate grants a hechsher to ingredients, packaged foods, beverages, and certain materials, as well as food-service providers and facilities in which kosher food is prepared or served. Kosher certification is a process by which a company ensures that their food is kosher, or in other words, fit for consumption by observant Jews. Kosher refers to a religious dietary practice that is rooted in Jewish tradition.
